Madis Teesalu on a winter shoreline with a sea trout

Guided sea trout days · Norwegian salmon rivers

Sea trout fishing in places you have most likely never been together with dozens of observations you need for a successful catch.

I am happy to share 25 years of my salmonid fishing discoveries with you — rocky reefs, hidden bays and the moment the rod suddenly bends.

The Estonian coast is home to the sea trout. Let’s go and find it together.

Sea trout fishing in Estonia is a very attractive activity, as it usually happens in nature spots of magnificent beauty. I am happy to invite you to places in nature where you most likely haven’t been before. I will share 25 years of my salmonid fishing discoveries with you, although I have been catching other fish all my life.

The beauty of Estonian nature is unrivalled — it is worth protecting, and everything we do should show respect for our surroundings!

002 / How it works

We wade the coast, read the sea and look for the silver

01

Where?

We fish for sea trout walking along the seashore in the water, looking for special rocky areas and hidden bays. All fishermen have their secret spots ;)

The nature in Norway is VERY BEAUTIFUL too — everything there is even more powerful. From time to time I also organise trips to the salmon rivers there.

02

Who is it for?

I can guide you personally or as a group — from nature observation and fish behaviour to equipment, locations and insider tips. I have hosted guests from Estonia, Finland, Norway, the USA and the UK.

Whether you are a complete beginner, someone looking to sharpen your skills, or someone who has spent long enough searching for fish without results — this is for you. It also makes a great experience gift or a getaway for small company teams.

03

What does it cost?

Prices are agreed depending on the length of the day. Transport is usually provided by the client. If needed, I can also arrange extra equipment.

The price also depends on how many of us are hunting for the silver.

Madis Teesalu

“I spend more time fishing than at home. Altogether I have more than 150 “satisfying days” a year. Fishing is a series of repetitions, yet every trip brings something new. Sea trout fishing is constant development — you are never finished.“

I am a great nature lover. Almost every year I go hiking in the Norwegian mountains and chase king salmon on the rivers there. In Estonia my favourite fish is the sea trout. I also work as a fishing guide for beginners and enthusiasts of salmonid fishing.

“Our world has expanded considerably”

One thought kept nagging me: you have to fish where and when the people who actually catch fish are fishing — and for that I have to thank Madis. One day of fishing together started to put the puzzle together and shortened my way to a fish, and what a fish it was! In the autumn the lesson will be repeated!

We were more than happy with the training. We have been out hunting sea trout many times since, and together we have caught more fish and had more contacts than in our whole previous lives! Now we follow the winds, the currents, the temperature and the seabed closely — our world has expanded considerably.

As a beginner, I liked his attitude and the way he explains things. He has plenty of experience and knowledge in this field, and I should have recorded it all, because there is so much interesting and useful information to take in.
— Ilmar
I have fished a weekend on Saaremaa and made a quick trip near Tallinn with Madis. He has excellent local knowledge and up-to-date information on what the sea trout are doing in Estonian waters. A reliable and truly pleasant guy!
